TechBytes: Facebook Introduces Deals

Microsoft's highly anticipated Xbox Kinect goes on sale today.

Nov. 4, 2010— -- Facebook has a new service that will let members use their phones to find discounts at nearby businesses, everything from restaurants to retailers. Members can check in with participating stores using Facebook's app, and get the discounts in return.

Some of the stores include the Gap, Macy's and JC Penney. Facebook Deals will be rolling out in the next few days.

Xbox Kinect Arrives

CNETs Dan Ackerman says it's really impressive, but there are some shortcomings.

"There really need to be a lot more games for it and a lot of different types of games for it," Ackerman said.

"And the set-up process can be a little arduous if you don't have exactly the right size or shape living room, or your room is not quiet enough, you're going to have to jump through some hoops to set up the system. It could be a little easier in that regard."

Kinect costs $150 without an Xbox.
