Slick, modern design; touch-sensitive controls look cool; price is currently discounted at Best Buy; includes HDMI and eSATA ports; dual headphone jacks.

Terrible battery life; below average performance; glossy keyboard and touch pad don't provide the best feel; no FireWire, Bluetooth, or Draft N Wi-Fi.

At its current discounted price, we'd be willing to overlook the HP Pavilion dv5-1004nr's below-average performance if the battery life wasn't so bad.
