Review: Motorola Razr2 V9
Razr2 V9 is top-of-the-line phone in popular clam shell shape.
Dec. 25, , 2007 -- The RAZR2 V9 is a stylish multimedia powerhouse of a phone with solid construction. It is a top-of-the-line phone in the popular clam shell form that also gets high marks for looks and performance.
Speaking on the phone is comfortable and produces excellent sound quality. The phone has a great-looking traditional display and a 2-inch external display that lets you play music via touch-sensitive music keys without having to open the phone. The phone is very attractive and functions as well as any cell phone.
The phone runs on AT&T's advanced 3G data network allowing users to watch live video on their phone and even share live video through video messaging.
Positives
Large keypad is easy to use and has a solid response when touched.
Convenient external lock so that navigational buttons aren't accidentally touched when the phone is in your pocket.
External display is beautiful and displaying the time or photos when the phone is closed look great.
2-megapixel camera took amazing photos even when the phone is closed.
Voice quality it crystal clear. Callers will be surprised they are talking to someone using a cell phone.
Advanced multimedia player makes carrying music easy.
Video sharing allows your friends to see exactly what you want to show them while on a call.
Negatives
Elegant cover can get smudged.
The phone can get hot to the touch when talking for long periods of time.
The phone opens up wider than traditional clam-shell design phones. Makes for a slimmer phone, but not as easy to hold it to your face.
Can cost as much as $350; although it's quality and looks are top notch, it is still mainly a cell phone.
