B.o.B and Neil deGrasse Tyson 'Flat Earth' Spat Takes an Interesting Turn
Astrophysicist responds to diss track with his own song.
— -- Rapper B.o.B really isn't letting go of this "the Earth is flat" idea.
A bizarre Twitter feud unfolded this week after the rapper's unscientific tweets rationalizing why the Earth is flat caught the attention of arguably the most famous scientist in the United States, Neil deGrasse Tyson.
After Tyson kindly explained to the "Airplanes" singer why his reasoning was Medieval and downright wrong, B.o.B fired back with a track called "Flatline" sampling a speech from the astrophysicist talking about the formation of the Earth, along with raps from B.o.B about a number of conspiracy theories.
Clearly Tyson wasn't getting through to the rapper on Twitter, so he released his own track this afternoon called "Flat to Fact."
"He learned the game from Carl Sagan/You can never check him/ You say the Earth is flat and then you try to disrespect him," the song begins.
Another notable line:"I think its very clear that Bobby didn't read enough and he's believing all this conspiracy theory stuff."
Here is where it gets really meta. There are of course conspiracy theories abound on Twitter about B.o.B's belief of the conspiracy theory, with some speculating he's simply looking for attention.
