CES 2016: Inside the Year of Virtual Reality

— -- Virtual reality is no longer just for tech nerds.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, it was clear 2016 is going to be the year of virtual reality for the masses.
"This year is really the first year consumers have access to this," DJ Roller, founder of NExtVR told ABC News' Rebecca Jarvis. "Virtual reality is a whole other medium, as different as radio was to television."
Jarvis had the chance to check out some of the latest innovations in virtual reality at CES -- including getting an up-close work at the Jaunt virtual reality camera. With 24 cameras, including 16 around the equator of the system, four on top and four on bottom, Jaunt's camera is able to get a 360-degree look at an environment, which the viewer can then enjoy in virtual reality.
"It's basically the first professional-grade camera for virtual reality. It basically captures a full 360 image of the entire environment," Jens Christensen, founder and CEO of Jaunt, told ABC News.
Christensen said he's seen the camera being used for just about everything.
"It's being used today for travel and adventure," he said. "You take it to national parks, downtown Paris."
