Exclusive: Apple CEO Tim Cook Dispels Fears That AirPods Will Fall Out of Ears

— -- Apple CEO Tim Cook has dismissed concerns consumers might have that his company’s new wireless headphones -- dubbed AirPods -- may fall out and become easily lost.

In a wide-ranging and exclusive interview with ABC News' "Good Morning America" set to air on Wednesday, Cook told Robin Roberts that he had used the new headphones in a number of scenarios without incident, including on a treadmill, and even joked about dancing with them.

Cook spoke to Roberts at a school in Harlem in New York City, in what was one of his first public appearances since Apple announced a new generation of its popular iPhone as well as a number of new accessories last week.

Since the event, a number of reviews have allayed fears that the headphones might fall out.

However, a reviewer writing in The New York Times today said that the devices had “a glitch” that caused a podcast to inadvertently “rewind and replay” small segments and that he had experienced some interference while using the device outside.

An Apple spokesperson told ABC News that the reviewer was testing pre-release hardware, as he noted, and that “bugs should be resolved by the time they are released next month.”

Roberts joked with Cook that ABC News colleague Michael Strahan was convinced he was going to lose the new phones, which appear similar to Apple’s standard in-ear headphones, but connect wirelessly to the phone.

“I’ve been on treadmills, walking, doing all the things you normally do,” Cook said, adding, “You know how you walk around with the earbuds and they’re constantly getting caught on something? You never have that problem.”

The wireless ear buds are scheduled to go on sale in late October and cost $159.
