Google Lets You Find Your Phone
Finding a missing device is now just one Google search away.
-- Lost your phone? You can now use Google search to track it down.
Android users who download the latest version of the Google app can log onto their Google account and enter a simple search query: "find my phone."
From there, users can choose to have Google ring their phone in the event its hiding nearby and they need an audio clue to help them find it.
A map can also show the phone's location in the event it was left at a bar, a friend's house or in a cab.
Google's update only works for Android users. The company previously rolled out Android Device Manager, which offers the same features on a desktop dashboard. Apple iPhone users have long enjoyed the company's "Find my iPhone" app, which offers similar features to frantic owners of missing devices.
After downloading the app to Apple devices, users can then log onto their iCloud account to ring them or find where they are on a map.
Isn't technology lovely?
