Google Opens First-Ever Shop: What It's Like Inside the London Store

Google takes a leap into the world of retail with a store within a store.

The experience is set up in a way that allows consumers to understand how the products can seamlessly work together, according to company officials. Google will also be offering classes at the shop focusing on everything from how to stay safe online to learning how to connect your devices.

"With the Google shop, we want to offer people a place where they can play, experiment and learn about all of what Google has to offer; from an incredible range of devices to a totally connected, seamless online life," he said. "We think it’s a genuinely unique try-before-you-buy experience."

A surround screen installation will also allow visitors to soar over any part of the world using Google Earth's images. Virtual "space camps" will also be offered for children where they can learn more about how to code.

Google plans to open two more shops inside of other Currys PC World locations in the greater London area later this year, company officials said.
