Google's 14th Birthday: Three Things You Can Do To Celebrate

Sept. 27, 2012 — -- Today Google is celebrating its 14th birthday. It was in 1998 that its two founders -- Sergey Brin and Larry Page -- had the company incorporated in California. (The company was actually incorporated on Sept. 7, but in 2005 Google decided it would prefer to celebrate on Sept. 27.)

So, what can you do to celebrate 14 years? Check out our three suggestions below.

Check out today's Google Doodle.Naturally, Google has a new doodle on its home page today to let the world know of its glorious life. The Google Doodle cake is animated with candles, though thankfully doesn't sing to you. While you're at it, you might want to check out our slideshow of the best Google Doodles over the years.

Check out what Google looked like when it was new.A site called archive.org has saved a copy of Google's home page from 1999, and you can see what it looked like right here. Search on the page doesn't work anymore, but you can see that the site's simple look hasn't really changed all that much. You still have the colorful Google logo, the search field, and the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. There are a few other links, but not many.
