TechBytes: More Americans Have Facebook Accounts Than Passports
Cost of traveling abroad cited as one reason.
July 25, 2011 -- In today's TechBytes, more evidence of Facebook's popularity. A new study finds that more Americans have Facebook accounts than passports: 50 percent vs. 37 percent.
The travel site Tripl says the reasons so few Americans travel abroad for vacations are the costs and the abundant choices within the United States.
Voice Command Coming to iPhone 5?
According to the website 9to5mac, the next generation iPhone will have a new voice-control feature called "Assistant."
You'll be able to speak a command into your phone, such as "Buy movie tickets for tonight" and the phone will come up with a list of times and theaters near you.
'Talk to Me' at MoMA
A new exhibit at New York's Museum of Modern Art explores how communication design affects our lives.
The exhibits range from a subway ticket machine to a dowsing rod that finds wireless signals instead of water.
The exhibit itself includes communication innovations such as the quick response tags that can be read by a smartphone and tell you more about an exhibit.
