TechBytes: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on Verizon 4G LTE
New tablet purports to be faster than the competition.
Aug. 5, 2011 -- In today's TechBytes, Samsung has just released its new Galaxy 10.1 tablet for Verizon's 4G network.
And while USA Today's Ed Baig found the device to be noticeably faster, he points out that the speed comes at a price.
"The device is faster than the iPad, it's thinner and lighter than the iPad as well. But there are downsides. You won't have as many apps. Battery not as good. And it's kind of pricey. And they make you sign up for a 2-year contract," notes Baig.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 starts at around $530.
LinkedIn Revenue Soars
LinkedIn's revenue more than doubled in the second quarter, while profits were up 5 percent. This was the social networking site's first quarterly report since it's big IPO.
