Tidal Claims No. 1 App Store Spot After Kanye West Album Release

The Jay-Z owned music streaming service competes with Apple Music, Spotify.

Tidal is available online, and is available in two different packages. Tidal Premium costs $9.99 and features standard-quality sound and high-definition music videos. For $10 more, users can access Tidal HiFi, which boasts lossless high-fidelity sound quality and high-definition music videos.

The app is free to download and it's unclear how many people actually signed up for the subscription service, which faces tough competition from Apple Music and Spotify. Tidal is currently ranked No. 30 in top grossing apps in the App Store though, proving that perhaps there may be a positive Kanye effect after all.
