Send E-mail to 'This Week'

— -- Do you have questions about the week's news? About current hot political topics? Or about how Washington works and the nation's government is run?

Send them to This Week. George Stephanopoulos may answer your question on the broadcast. Make your question short and to the point.

Recently, viewer Bill Pederson of Pittsford, N.Y., wrote in with a question about commercials for the redesigned $20 bill:

"Can you explain why the government is spending our tax dollars to advertise the new look of the $20 bill?"

Here's George's reply:

"According to the Treasury Department, $43 million in counterfeit bills circulate through the economy each year, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing adds, 'The only way you win the war against counterfeiting is to educate the public about the security features of the new bill.'

"But the chairman of the House committee that controls the bureau's budget is seeing red over the greenback ads. Rep. Ernest Istook, R-Okla., warns that if the bureau doesn't cut the marketing budget, he'll cut it for them."
