Executive Producer

Kathy O'Hearn was named executive producer of "This Week" in May 2005. She is responsible for the production and editorial content of the network's Sunday morning public affairs show. A 17-year veteran of ABC News, O'Hearn returned to the network from CNBC, where in 2003 she created and served as executive producer on the talk show "Topic A with Tina Brown."

Before working at CNBC, O'Hearn helped create, launch and produce CNN's "American Morning" in 2001 and 2002. She joined CNN in 2000, where she oversaw the cable network's morning coverage in the aftermath of 9/11.

Earlier, she served as executive vice president of CNN Business News and CNNfn, for which she was responsible for the production and development of CNN Business News and its flagship program, "Moneyline." She was the executive in charge in May 2001 when the show was successfully re-launched as "Lou Dobbs' Moneyline."

O'Hearn first joined ABC News in 1983 as an assignment editor in the Washington, D.C., bureau and culminated her 17 years there as the executive producer of "World News Tonight Saturday" and "World News Tonight Sunday" from 1996 to 2000. During this period, she was also responsible for relaunching "Good Morning America Sunday" and served as the show's executive producer. Earlier positions at ABC News included that of Los Angeles bureau chief, where she oversaw news coverage of the western United States, including such events as the Rodney King trial, the Los Angeles riots, the Malibu fires and the Northridge earthquake, as well as the O.J. Simpson trial.

O'Hearn began her career in broadcasting in 1976 at CBS News, where she was an assignment editor in the Washington, D.C., bureau. She also worked as a camera person from 1979-1982, covering major events around the world during the Carter and Reagan administrations.

Her work over the years has earned her several awards, including five Emmys, three Edward R. Murrow Awards, a 2000 National Headliner Award for Best Newscast, an Overseas Press Club Award in 1999 and a Peabody Award in 1999.

O'Hearn is a graduate of the University of Maryland. She and the Wonder Dog, Ellie, live in Washington.

Adam Belmar

Senior Producer

Adam Belmar was named senior producer of "This Week" in September 2005. In this capacity, he coordinates the show's taped elements, advises George and Kathy in editorial development, and oversees the weekly production cycle.

Before joining George, Belmar worked as the senior Washington producer for ABC's "Good Morning America," responsible for managing all aspects of the show's Washington, operation, including newsgathering, live production and bookings. Before joining ABC News in 2001, Belmar worked as a writer and producer on the nationally syndicated political talk show "The McLaughlin Group." From 1998 to 2001, Belmar worked as producer and assignment editor in the Tribune Broadcasting Washington bureau. In this capacity, Belmar was the field producer on many top national stories of the day for Tribune's network of 25 local affiliates.

From 1996 to 1998, Belmar worked for Fox News, first as an assignment editor at the Fox affiliate in Boston, and then as an assistant regional coordinator for Fox NewsEdge, the network's affiliate news service.

Belmar graduated with a B.S. in journalism from Boston University in 1996. Adam and his wife, Heidi, have two sons, Max and Sam.

Production Staff

Lisa Koenig, producer, has spent 19 years at ABC News, beginning in London and Moscow before joining "Nightline" as a producer in 1992. In a distinguished career, Koenig served as senior producer on several highly acclaimed series, including "The Clinton Years" and "Brave New World." She was also senior producer of "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings" from 1996-1997.

Koenig has been awarded five Emmys, the Joan Barone Award, and contributed to ABC's coverage of 9/11 that earned a Peabody Award in 2001. She joined "This Week" in 2005 as a producer and, when not criss-crossing the country with George, enjoys time with her two daughters and husband in Washington, D.C.

Ilana Marcus Drimmer, editorial producer, oversees the weekly booking, suggesting show guests and tracking current events to deliver the most current and relevant newsmakers each week. Drimmer has served as "This Week's" primary booker for six years, beginning with Sam Donaldon and Cokie Roberts in 2000, and continuing on with George.

Drimmer previously worked on CNN's "Larry King Live" and also hosts a behind-the-scenes look at each week's roundtable with "The Green Room." She lives in the Washington area with her husband, Jonathan, and her son, Jacob.

Susie Banikarim, producer, oversees all aspects of the "Voices" segment including booking and producing. Banikarim joined "This Week" from "World News Tonight." Her career in television has included a wide variety of projects, including stints at MTV and ABC's reality show, "Wife Swap."

Banikarim graduated with honors from Columbia's Graduate School of Journalism. She is also a graduate of Barnard College, with degrees in English and political science.

John O'Leary, operations producer, deals with the devil in the details from affiliate two-ways to satellites to camera crews. O'Leary ensures our guests reach your TV set. O'Leary, a proud Brit, joined the staff in 1999.

Jonathan Greenberger, segment producer, conducts reseach for the show and briefs George prior to interviews. Greenberger also does double duty, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look in "The Green Room." Jonathan graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in economics, before joining "This Week" in 2005.

Lindsey Ellerson, production associate, produces the weekly segment "In Memoriam" and the This Week webcast, "This Week All Week." She also provides the show's producers with assistance locating tape for This Week's other taped pieces. Ellerson is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and joined ABC News in 2005.

Emily O'Donnell, production coordinator, assists in the production of the 'Funnies' segment and assists producer Lisa Koenig in organizing show futures, while also aiding Kathy O'Hearn, the show's executive producer. O'Donnell graduated from Emerson College and joined "This Week" from "Good Morning America" in 2005.

Courtney Cohen, production coordinator, is George's assistant, maintaining the anchor's schedule. Before joining the team Cohen worked as a literary assistant at United Talent Agency's Motion Picture Literary Department. A graduate of American University here in Washington D.C. and a self-proclaimed political junkie, she is glad to be back in the nation's capitol.

Mary Bruce, desk assistant, gathers the week's best moments of sound and tape, assembles show scripts and organizes all the show elements. She is a DC native and a 2005 graduate of Washington University, where she majored in History and Spanish. Prior to joining ABC Mary worked in print journalism.

Curtis Raye (George Washington University) and Florian Heinhold (American University) are currently "This Week's" interns.
