New Orleans Hotel Serves $10,000 Luxury Super Bowl Cocktail
The "Key to the City" cocktail is available only at the Windsor Court Hotel.
Feb. 1, 2013 -- New Orleans, home to the 2013 Super Bowl and a city known for hurricanes and $1 Jello shots on Bourbon Street, is now also the home of a limited-time, $10,000 cocktail.
The "Key to the City" cocktail is available only at the Windsor Court Hotel until Feb. 12. It's made of D'Oliveiras Malvasia 1907 Madeira Cobbler and served in a silver julep cup, garnished with fresh fruit and souvenir gold key.
But wait, there's more! Also included is a future stay at the Windsor Court, including two nights in a penthouse suite with butler and concierge service, round-trip transportation to and from the airport, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, a tour of the city, an evening at Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse, two spa treatments and dinner at The Grill, the hotel's restaurant.

New Orleans is a hot town right now, hosting the Super Bowl this weekend and Mardi Gras immediately after. Those who purchase the drink can also arrange for priority seating in the hotel's Polo Lounge during Mardi Gras, where revelers watch many of the Mardi Gras parades that pass through the French Quarter.
"This is an exciting time in New Orleans with all eyes on the city for two major back-to-back events," said David Teich, general manager of the Windsor Court Hotel. "The Windsor Court prides itself on visitor experiences and wanted to offer a once-in-a-lifetime cocktail for new guests to enjoy the festive weekend and entice Super Bowl visitors to come back to explore the city again in the future."
A less expensive cocktail -- priced at $2,000 -- gives imbibers a future one-night stay at the club level, round-trip transportation from the airport, a bottle of champagne, dinner for two and two spa treatments. The "Key to the Court" Sazerac -- a traditional New Orleans drink -- is made with Louis XIII Cognac and a souvenir gold key garnish.
