Buses Transformed Into Themed Hotel Rooms at China Resort

Old buses are getting a new life, but not as transportation.

— -- Old buses are getting a new life at a resort in China -- but not as transportation.

These buses are used as overnight accommodations.

A resort in Taiyuan, located in the Shanxi Province of China, spent about $15,000 to revive scrapped buses from several decades into overnight rooms, similar to recreational vehicles.

The rooms feature kitchens, TVs, air conditioners and bathrooms.

The "hotel rooms" cost about $30 per night.

The modified buses are proving popular with guests -- the resort plans to refurbish more old buses to meet demand.
