Peek Inside the Budget Hotel Named the Nation's Best

This unassuming property has taken top honors.

The Cape Cod beach town made famous by the Kennedys is home to a hotel that's been named the best budget hotel in the nation. With an average nightly rate of $181, the SeaCoast Inn may be nondescript, but it scores big in traveler reviews.

TripAdvisor's 13th annual Travelers Choice Awards specifically cited the inn's owners, with one traveler writing "If Terri and Al could teach classes on inn-keeping there would never be a need for a site to write reviews, since they would all be excellent."

The hotel's website, though sparse, reads: "Our central location in downtown Hyannis gives you easy access to Hyannis Harbor, ferries to both islands -- Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard [--] and Main Street ... with the shops and restaurants. Because we are centrally located, you can enjoy the whole cape and islands while staying with us. ... When you stay with us you will be treated to some old-fashioned friendliness and genuine courtesy."

The hotel has free Wi-Fi, free continental breakfast and air conditioning.

Though 25 bargain hotels made the "best" list, SeaCoast Inn was the only property in New England to make the cut.
