Over 350,000 Cans of Campbell SpaghettiOs Recalled Due to Potential Choking Hazard
Anyone who bought an affected can should return it for an exchange or refund.
— -- The Campbell Soup Company is voluntarily recalling 355,000 cans of SpaghettiOs Original in the United States because of a potential choking hazard, the company said.
Pieces of red plastic from parts of the can lining were found in a small number of cans, according to the company.
The problem was found after Campbell received consumer complaints, the company announced Thursday.
A representative for Campbell told ABC News the company received around 50 consumer calls.
The recall affects 14.2-ounce SpaghettiOs Original cans with a date of Feb. 22, 2017, printed on the base of the can and a UPC code of 51000 22432 printed under the bar code, according to Campbell, which also noted that anyone who bought an affected can should not eat it, but instead return it to the stores where it was purchased for an exchange or refund.
The product was shipped to retailers in Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas, Arizona, California, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Idaho, Tennessee and Arkansas, a Campbell representative told ABC News. While the product was shipped to those 15 states, Campbell is conducting a national recall, the company said.
