What Could You Do With $400M? Powerball Mania at Fever Pitch
What could you do with $400 Million?
-- With the jackpot skyrocketing to $400 million after there were no winners over the weekend, Powerball mania is reaching fever pitch.
This is the largest Powerball jackpot in more than two years, and players across the country are already daydreaming about what they could do with their newfound riches.
Share it with family? Check. Buy a house –- or homes? Check. Luxury cars, pricey gadgets, high-end jewelry? Check, check, check.
If you’ve made New Year’s resolutions, $400 million could help you keep them and more.
For example, if you’ve resolved to get fit, you could hire Tracy Anderson -– celebrity trainer -– at her monthly rate for yourself and 500 friends and family members for life.
And if you’ve resolved to give up hamburgers, you could purchase more than 1,400 Subway franchises with your winnings.
Those who plan to travel could take nearly 18,000 trips around the world.
But don’t make all those big plans just yet, because you’ve got lots of competition. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
Lottery officials say no one claimed Saturday's $334 million prize, although someone from Pennsylvania won $2 million and three players -- from California, Connecticut and South Carolina -- won $1 million in the game.
The sixth-largest prize in Powerball history -- $339.4 million -– was won in 2013 by someone from South Carolina.
The next drawing will be held on Wednesday.
