6.9-Magnitude Earthquake Reported Off Calif. Coast
No tsunami has been reported.
March 10, 2014 -- A 6.9-magnitude earthquake was reported off the coast of California, but there was no danger of a tsunami.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake happened at 9:18 p.m. Sunday local time about for miles beneath the Pacific seabed and about 50 miles west of Eureka.
USGS seismologist Susan Hoover says more than 300 people have reported feeling the quake on their website.
The National Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami danger for the region. No injuries have been reported.
