Coast Guard Station in Michigan Evacuated Following Bomb Threat

A coast guard station in Michigan was evacuated today after a bomb threat.

Just after 6 a.m., a man made a call "claiming he had a bomb in his truck and was going to blow up Station Grand Haven," the Coast Guard said in a news release.

As the station was being evacuated, a man drove a truck through the gate and broke into the building. The suspect, identified only as a 34-year-old man, was apprehended and taken into custody.

His truck was searched by Michigan State Police bomb technicians and no explosives were found.

No injuries were reported and the building has been deemed safe, the Coast Guard said.

The investigation is ongoing, the Director of Public Safety in Grand Haven said.
