3 Dead in Shooting Near University of Maryland, Baltimore Campus
Students were advised to use caution in the area.
-- Four people were shot, three fatally, near the University of Maryland’s Baltimore campus, police said.
The shooting was reported after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of West Fayette Street, authorities said.
Detective Rashawn K. Strong said in a statement that one woman and two men were found with gunshot wounds. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second man and the woman died at a nearby hospital.
A fourth victim walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound and was later listed in stable condition, police said.
Students were advised to use caution in the area, according to a statement by the university. There’s no word whether any of the victims were students at the school.
The shooting remains under investigation.
