-- A disturbing video captures a man going overboard on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship overnight.
At approximately 1 a.m., the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas cruise ship reported that a man fell into the water, according to the Coast Guard. The ship was 17 miles east of the Turks and Caicos Islands, the cruise line said.
Royal Caribbean said the man was a 35-year-old guest from Brazil.
According to Royal Caribbean, the passenger "was spotted by Oasis of the Seas crew members intentionally going over the side of the ship."
The video captures the man hanging on the side and then falling into the water.
The Coast Guard said that Royal Caribbean had launched two small boats to look for the missing passenger, while search and rescue crews from the Coast Guard’s Clearwater, Florida, station are assisting by plane and helicopter.
The man was last seen wearing a pink shirt and white shorts, the Coast Guard said.
"Our Care Team is providing support to the guest’s family and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time," said a Royal Caribbean spokesperson.
