Early Season Snowstorm Slams Midwest Ahead of Thanksgiving Travel

It was the second largest November snowstorm on record for the Chicago area with 11.2 inches of snow recorded. This November has jumped to the fourth snowiest November on record for Chicago, despite it being one of the warmest.
Chicago area airports reported up to 400 cancellations on Saturday as some travelers looked to get a head start on Thanksgiving travel.
Some spots north and west of Chicago received up to 16 inches of snow. Heavy snow also fell north and west of Detroit, where a whopping 15.5 inches of snow were recorded in White Lake, Michigan.
Behind the storm, frigid air gripped the Midwest on Sunday morning, with wind chill values in the single digits and teens. The cold air was expected to last into Monday morning before a warming trend set in later in the week.
