Eric Garner Case: NYPD's Twitter Fail
Critics flood social media after decision to not indict police officer.
-- Here's another example of Twitter gone wrong.
Critics attacked the NYPD after it posted a tweet in response to the Eric Garner decision, writing, "The #NYPD is committed to rebuilding public trust. #Wehearyou."
The tweet came soon after it was announced that the police officer who put Garner in a choke hold would not be indicted in the man's death.
And the criticism that followed:
At about 4:15 p.m., city officials were notified by New York City's Digital Director to "stop all outbound social content until further notice."
The ban was lifted today at 1:30 p.m.
