Fantasy Forecast: Week 2

— -- ABC News meteorologist Mel explains how this week's weather forecast could impact your fantasy football league.

Dolphins vs. Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts:

There is chance for showers and gusty winds through the game on Sunday afternoon. It's going to be hard to start anybody on the Dolphins' offense after last week; no one performed extremely well. Now it's a rivalry game, on the road in Foxborough, and in the rain and wind -- all reasons enough to keep most of your Dolphins on the bench. Sit Ryan Tannehill and Jarvis Landry this week; Landry didn't find the end zone last week and it might not be any different in New England. DeVante Parker could make his return this week, but keep him on your bench, too. Arian Foster might be the only Dolphin worth any fantasy value here, especially if they keep the ball on the ground due to wet weather and wind. The Patriots are at home and this is where they thrive, even without Tom Brady. If Gronk is back, you know you'll start him, but if not, still sit Martellus Bennett. On the other hand, Julian Edelman and LeGarrette Blount are both worth starting.

Saints vs. Giants in East Rutherford, New Jersey:

Scattered showers are in the forecast for East Rutherford. It looks like second half of the game will be wetter than the first. The Giants offense has the advantage here -- they're playing at home in the rain against a dome team with an awful defense! As always, start your studs Odell Beckham Jr and Drew Brees in this matchup, but there are a couple of other Giants players you should play this week. Eli Manning threw six touchdowns against the Saints last year, the most of his entire season. Rookie Sterling Shepard already got his first touchdown in week 1, and he can do it again against a Saints defense that allowed over 300 receiving yards last week against Oakland. But you have to sit the Giants defense this week. With Drew Brees and powerhouses Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, the Giants defense won't be putting up many points.

Bengals vs. Steelers in Pittsburgh:

Heavy rain is possible during at least the first half of the game in Pittsburgh. Last season, the Bengals hosted the Steelers for the AFC Wild Card game during torrential rain, and it looks like that will happen again. The muddy grass surface at Heinz Field becomes a muddy mess in the rain. Let's talk about Ben Roethlisberger first. He's thrown a touchdown in his last 10 out of 11 games that he played in the rain. Antonio Brown was on fire last week, so it's more than likely one of those touchdown passes will come his way. DeAngelo Williams is also set to have a huge game, he's a must-start until LeVeon Bell returns. On the Bengals side, Dalton beat both the Broncos and the Patriots in the rain, so don't count him out either. To help alleviate some of that pressure in wet weather, expect Jeremy Hill to get a good amount of carries, more so than Gio Bernard.

The Wayback Weather game of the week is called the Mud Bowl from November 2007. The Steelers beat the Dolphins 3-0 in Pittsburgh -- the lowest scoring game in Monday Night Football history. Strong thunderstorms even chased the players off the field during pre-game warm-ups, resulting in a 25-minute lightning delay, a first for Pittsburgh in November. The re-sodded field turned into a mushy mess: The heavy rain washed all of the yard lines away and at one point, the nose of a punted ball actually buried itself into the muddy field. The lone score of the day was when Jeff Reed kicked a 24-yard field goal with only 17 seconds left in the game.
