Fog Bank Resembling Tsunami Forms Perfectly in Line With Jersey Shore Coast
Meteorologists explain how the weather phenomenon happened.
-- No, that's not a tsunami headed for the Jersey shore, but rather a giant fog bank perfectly in line with the horizon.
Lifeguards from Sea Girt, New Jersey, captured incredible photos of the fog mass this past Sunday after a rainstorm.
Local meteorologists soon explained the ominous weather phenomenon on social media.
The wave of fog was formed due to "warm air condensing over cold ocean water," the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly wrote on Facebook.
The National Weather Service also shared a satellite image showing how the coast fog bank was almost exactly parallel to New Jersey's coastline.
