Third Girl Dies From Asiana Airlines Crash Injuries
San Francisco General Hospital spokesman said the victim was a young woman.
July 12, 2013 -- The death toll from the Asiana Airlines crash has risen to three after a young girl died today from her injuries, according to an announcement from San Francisco General Hospital.
"The patient was a girl who had been in critical condition and died as the result of her injuries," the hospital said in a statement. "Her parents have asked that we reveal no further information at this time. We will respect their wishes while they grieve."
Six people are being treated at the hospital for injuries sustained in last weekend's crash, including two adults who are in critical condition with injuries that include internal bleeding, spinal cord and abdominal injuries, and road rash and fractures, according to the hospital.

Asiana Airlines Flight 214, which originated in Seoul, was carrying 291 passengers and 16 crew members when it crashed on the airport runway on Saturday and burst into flames. More than 180 people were initially taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Wang Linjia and Ye Mengyuan, both 16 years old and students from China, died in the crash last weekend. The students had been in the rear of the aircraft, where many of the most seriously injured passengers were seated, according to National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Deborah Hersman.
Federal investigators have yet to indicate whether the crash can be attributed to pilot error, while they continue to analyze data recovered from the plane's black boxes.
Investigators have said Flight 214 was flying "significantly below" its target speed during approach when the crew tried to abort the landing just before the plane crashed onto the runway.
