2 Girls Released From Hospital, 1 Remains in Critical Condition, After Tennessee Ferris Wheel Accident
The accident took place at the Greene County Fair.
-- Two of the three girls injured in a Ferris wheel accident in Tennessee have been released from the hospital, but a 6-year-old remains hospitalized with traumatic brain injury, police said.
The girl who remains hospitalized is in critical condition, according to the Greeneville Police.
Her 10-year-old sister and another 16-year-old girl were released from the hospital.
Officials said that they received a 911 call that a basket on the Ferris wheel at the Greene County Fair had overturned Monday evening and the girls fell from a height of 35-45 feet.
"The Greene County Fair Board sends our best wishes to the two injured children who were released from Niswonger Children’s Hospital today," the fair said in a release Thursday night. "We continue to pray for the complete recovery of the youngest child, who still remains hospitalized."
The fair said it has parted ways with the operators of the rides and neither will receive compensation for 2016 and 2017.
