Oct. 27, 2012 -- Hurricane Sandy has prompted people across the Northeast to stock up on food and survival items.
Here are the top items to stock up on before the storm hits:
Non-perishable food that can be eaten easily and without heat -- enough for a least three days
Bottled water (enough for at least three days), a least a gallon per person
Radio (hand crank or battery powered)
Flashlights
First-aid supplies
Wrench, tools to turn off utilities
Batteries, inverter or solar powered charger
Cleaning supplies, trash bags
