Injured OSU Homecoming Crash Victim, 12, to Be Released Today

— -- One of the 46 people injured when a driver crashed into a homecoming parade at Oklahoma State University this weekend is expected to be released from the hospital sometime today.

Alleyn Campbell, 12, suffered a broken leg, a concussion, cuts and road rash after he was hit in the Saturday morning incident.

"He doesn't remember much of the crash," his mother, Collette Campbell, told ABC affiliate KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City.

Some of that is the result of a woman in the crowd who Campbell said "shielded him from seeing other things."

The pre-teen will have to go through physical therapy but he told KOCO that he expects to be walking "in four to six weeks."

Alleyn appears to be in high spirits, buoyed by visits from OSU football players and his friends.

But Alleyn plans to put those friends to work once he gets out of Stillwater Medical Center, and when asked what he was most looking forward to upon his release, he told KOCO "probably to get on the wheelchair and go around and make other people push me to my classes ... that's going to be fun!"

Alleyn was one of 46 people who were injured, and four others were killed when Adacia Chambers drove into the crowd.

Chambers, 25, was arrested at the scene and is being held on $1,000,000 bond. She has not officially been charged or entered a plea, but is expected to face four second-degree murder counts, though the district attorney said another injured person who is in critical condition may worsen.
