April 17, 2014 -- Kansas City police said today they have taken into custody a suspect in connection with a string of highway shootings that have set the area on edge.
SWAT teams were seen swarming the house of the male suspect in Grandview, Mo. In a brief news conference this evening, police did not provide details on what led them to the suspect.
"Residents are safe...we have a person in custody," Police Chief Darryl Forté said. "That person has not been charged." He said more details will provided tomorrow and the investigation is ongoing.
One person was killed and another injured on Monday after a shooting on a Kansas City highway.
