4 Killed as 2 Small Planes Collide Midair in San Diego County

— -- Four people were killed when two small planes collided in midair today in Otay Mesa, California, near the Mexican border, an official with Cal Fire said.
The two planes were a Saberliner jet and a Cessna 172, said Nick Schuler of Cal Fire.
No injuries were reported on the ground, said Lt. Jim Bolwerk of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Officials had earlier said three people were killed in the collision.
The Sheriff's Department was notified of the crash around 11 a.m., Bolwerk said.
Officers from the San Diego Police Department and the California Highway Patrol were also on the scene, and a representative from the Federal Aviation Administration was also expected, he said.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said the accident sparked a small brush fire.
