Crowd gathering in West Palm Beach ahead of Trump's speech

About 50 to 60 Trump supporters have already gathered in West Palm Beach ahead of the former president's speech tonight at Mar-a-Lago.

The crowd has been peaceful, though police said they are ready for anything. Barricades have been put in place for the safety of the supporters and drivers.

Hundreds of supporters are expected to attend, the Trump campaign said.

Longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone and MyPillow’s Mike Lindell will be among those in attendance, the campaign told ABC News. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz are also planning to attend, ABC News previously reported.

Lawmakers react to historic proceedings

Lawmakers and political leaders are reacting to Tuesday's historic arraignment of and unveiled indictment against former President Donald Trump.

As Republicans slammed the "travesty" of Trump's arraignment, Democrats' messaging centered on support for the "justice system."

Meanwhile, some of the now-exonerated "Central Park Five" -- five Black and brown boys wrongfully accused of rape and assault in New York City -- say the former president's indictment is "karma." Trump had called for the return of the death penalty in a series of ads in 1989 amid the case.

Trump says hearing had 'no surprises' in 1st social post since arraignment

In his first post on social media since his arraignment, former President Donald Trump called the hearing "shocking" that there were "no surprises" and "no case."

Trump also promoted his upcoming speech tonight at Mar-a-Lago on his social media platform.

"Just lifted off for Palm Beach, Florida. Will be delivering remarks tonight at Mar-a-Lago at 8:15 P.M., EASTERN. The hearing was shocking to many in that they had no 'surprises,' and therefore, no case. Virtually every legal pundit has said that there is no case here. There was nothing done illegally!" Trump wrote.

Trump pleads not guilty to 34 felony counts

Former President Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, according to a source in the courtroom. Trump entered the not guilty plea himself, sources said.

Trump waited in the courtroom for at least five minutes before Judge Juan Merchan arrived, and rose when the judge said, “all rise.”

“Let’s arraign Mr. Trump, please," Merchan said.

Trump spoke quietly when he addressed the judge, including when he entered his not guilty plea.

Prosecutors asked for a protective order on the discovery materials, which would prevent Trump from disseminating those records.

Todd Blanche, Trump’s new defense attorney, at one point said, “I didn’t realize we were going to be giving opening statements.”

Blanche said Trump was “frustrated” and “upset” and had a right to express his views publicly.

The judge said he was not going to enact a gag order.
