-- A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of U.S. Airman Spencer Stone in Sacramento, California, last month, police said today.
James Tran, 28, was taken into custody this morning and charged with attempted murder, Sacramento Police said.
Stone, who was hailed as a hero along with two friends after they helped stop a terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train this summer, was stabbed multiple times during an altercation on Oct. 8, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Tran was identified as the suspect after interviews with witnesses and information from the community, police said.
Stone suffered three stab wounds to the torso and underwent surgery at the UC Davis Medical Center. He has since been released.
