Man erects 58 white crosses in front of iconic 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign to honor shooting victims

Greg Zanis drove across the country to display the crosses near the Strip.

— -- An Illinois man known for his previous tributes to mass shooting victims traveled across the country Thursday to set up 58 white crosses near the Las Vegas Strip.

The white wooden crosses were adorned with a red heart and a picture of each victim.

Zanis erected similar displays after other mass shootings in Columbine, Newtown and Orlando.

The artist traveled nearly 2,000 miles from Aurora, Illinois, to honor the victims in Las Vegas, according to ABC News Los Angeles.

Zanis did not immediately respond to ABC News' request for comment.
