The Moment a Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Highway Overpass Caught on Video

The plane was carrying skydiving students and their instructor, police said.

The video, capturing the incident on Sunday morning, shows a single-engine plane flying above the highway just before it veers a little to the left and safely lands onto a grass median between the east- and west-bound lanes of Route 72 in Stafford Township.

An initial investigation suggested the small plane lost power, which forced the pilot to make an emergency landing, Stafford Township Police wrote on Facebook.

The plane was carrying students from Skydive East Coast skydiving school in nearby West Creek, New Jersey, police said, adding that one skydiving instructor was treated for a small cut on his arm, though no other injuries were reported and no vehicles were involved.

Officers at the scene closed the left lanes on Route 72 in both directions for about 90 minutes while the scene remained under investigation, police said.

The FAA, Stafford Township Police Department and Skydive East Coast did not immediately respond to ABC News' requests for additional information.
