Police arrest masked man with fake gun at Las Vegas mall

Police said the suspect's rifle was determined to be fake.

A masked man armed with a fake gun was arrested after he allegedly frightened shoppers at a Las Vegas mall Thursday night, police said.

The mall was evacuated as responding officers searched the premises three times, but they were unable to find the suspect.

Witnesses told detectives that the suspect pointed the gun at numerous people inside the mall. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired, police said.

Police announced Friday morning that the suspect -- identified as 25-year-old Emile Daren Hobson -- had been located and was arrested. Detectives also recovered a mask and a rifle, which police said "was determined to be a fake."

Hobson faces a charge of committing an act of terrorism, police said.
