Pope Francis' 1st Touching Moment as He Landed in Philadelphia
Francis started to drive away, but then signaled to the driver to stop.
-- As Pope Francis landed in Philadelphia this morning for the final leg of his trip to the United States, he made sure to give special attention to those waiting for him at the airport.
In the back of his Fiat, Francis smiled with his hand out of the window and gave a thumbs up to the marching band, which played the theme song to "Rocky" when he landed at Philadelphia International Airport, when he abruptly signaled to the driver to stop.
The pope got out of the car and walked over to a disabled boy. He leaned over the barricades and embraced the boy, holding him and extending a blessing.
Francis then blessed two nuns and the boy's family before getting back into his car and heading to Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, where he was celebrating Mass later this morning.
