Rescue of Elderly Man From Sinking Truck Caught on Camera
After the man got his door open, the good Samaritan pulled him out of the water.
-- A driver survived a high-speed crash into the Union River in Ellsworth, Maine, last Thursday when his car careered out of control. He was rescued by a good Samaritan who sprinted into action.
Security cameras show the bystander jumping into the water and pulling Charles Stratton, 61, from the wreckage.
Stratton was able to get the door of his truck open before he was rescued, officials said.
According to ABC News affiliate WMTW in Portland, Maine, Stratton sustained only minor cuts and bruises from the crash.
Ellsworth police said Stratton had an unspecified medical issue that led to the crash.
