Suspect in Custody After Stabbing at Rutgers University's Business School
Three people, including the suspect, were wounded in the incident.
-- A suspect is in custody after a stabbing at Rutgers University's business school in Piscataway, New Jersey, according to the university.
The stabbing occurred around 2:30 p.m. today, and three individuals -- including the suspect -- were wounded and "being treated for their injuries," Rutgers said in the statement this afternoon.
"There is no danger to the community," the university added. "The investigation is ongoing and additional details will be released as they become available."
The suspect is believed to be a former student, according to an official. He had a psychiatric episode and tried to commit suicide. Investigators are trying to determine whether the attack came at the start or end of the suicide attempt, the official said.
One victim is a faculty member, while a second is an undergraduate student and research assistant.
The investigation is ongoing.
