Storms and Tornadoes Touch Down in Texas, Injuries Reported

Homes have been damaged and some are without power.

— -- A powerful storm rolled through the south overnight Tuesday, bringing at least one tornado, according to local officials.

Four people were reportedly injured when vehicles they were in were caught up in a tornado that hit Howe, Texas, Howe Police Chief Carl Hudman told The Associated Press.

The Texan cities of Whitesboro, Bells and Howe were most impacted by the storms, according to the Grayson County Office of Emergency Management (OEM).

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center said 60 million people from the Gulf Coast to the Midwest to North Carolina and Virginia should be on alert for strong storms on Wednesday. The nastiest weather is predicted for an area north of Houston and into part of Iowa.
