1. No Sign of Missing Plane in Area Shown on Satellite Images

Malaysia's defense minister has denied reports that engine data from the missing Malaysian jetliner indicated it may have kept flying for four hours after its last communication. Acting Defense Minister Hishammuddin Hussein was referring to reports that the Rolls Royce engines aboard the Boeing 777 automatically sent data to the engine manufacturer as part of a maintenance program.

2. Death Toll Rises in New York City Building Explosion

The death toll in Wednesday's suspected gas explosion and building collapse in New York City has risen to six, with three additional victims found early this morning.

3. 2 Dead After Vehicle Plows Into Crowd Near South by Southwest

A man and a woman were killed and dozens of others were injured in Austin, Texas early this morning after a fleeing driver crashed his vehicle through barricades set up for the South by Southwest festival, plowing into a crowd of people, police said.
