1. Former President George HW Bush Hospitalized

Former President George H.W. Bush was taken by ambulance to the Houston Methodist Hospital as a precaution after experiencing a shortness of breath Tuesday, his spokesman said.

The former president, age 90, will be held for observation, again as a precaution, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said.

Houston Methodist is the same hospital were Bush spent nearly two months for a bronchitis-related cough and other health issues before he was released in January 2013 after treatment.

"The President has been made aware that President Bush was admitted to the hospital. President Obama and the First Lady send their good wishes to the former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season," White House Spokesperson Eric Schultz said in a statement.

2. Man Killed in Police Shooting Near Ferguson, Missouri

A man was shot and killed by a police officer Tuesday in Berkeley, Missouri, authorities said – sparking new unrest in a region already reeling following an August police shooting in Ferguson, which is located about two miles away.

The shooting happened at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at a Mobil gas station, St. Louis County Police public information officer Sgt. Brian Schellman said.

According to Schellman, the officer noticed two males on the side of the gas station building and approached, when one of the men pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the officer.

“Fearing for his life, the Berkeley Officer fired several shots, striking the subject, fatally wounding him,” Schellman said in a statement.

3. At Least Four Dead, 20 Injured After Tornado Strikes Mississippi

Tornadoes swept through the South Tuesday, killing at least four people and injuring at least 20 others in Mississippi while damaging homes and businesses, officials said.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the four individuals who lost their lives today during the severe weather that pushed through the state," Gov. Phil Bryant said in a statement.

Two deaths were confirmed in Jones County, Sheriff Alex Hodge said, noting the victims' mobile home was destroyed by the storm. Another two deaths and 20 injuries were reported in Marion, with "extensive damage to homes and businesses, multiple roads closed and numerous power outages," according to the state's Emergency Management Agency.

4. Missing Armored Truck Driver in Texas Charged, Father Arrested

Police in Texas have issued a warrant for the missing driver of an armored truck found empty and arrested his father.

Police were searching for the driver of an armored car that was found empty, with the engine running, in an alley in Amarillo.

A warrant charged missing driver Trent Michael Cook, 24, of Amarillo, with first-degree felony theft of over $200,000. Officers arrested Cook's father, Brian Keith Hodge, 43, on Monday evening for tampering with or fabricating evidence in connection with the case.

5. Sony Hacking: 200-Plus Movie Theaters Will Show 'The Interview' Starting Christmas Day

More than 200 movie theaters around the country will be screening the controversial film "The Interview" on the original air date of Christmas Day, Sony said.

The Alamo Drafthouse theater in Texas confirmed today that it will be showing the film, as did another theater in Atlanta, Georgia.

"We have never given up on releasing The Interview and we're excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day,"Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment, said in a statement released this afternoon.

"At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience," Lynton said.
