1. Mom Wakes Up From Coma to Find She's Had Her Baby

Sharista Giles was five months pregnant when a car accident left her in a coma in December.

Doctors originally told her family that the she would never wake up, but on Wednesday, the 20-year-old opened her eyes, her aunt told ABC News.

A tornado slammed the tiny Illinois town of Fairdale Thursday, killing one person, injuring seven and destroying homes across the town, authorities said.

According to DeKalb County Coroner and County Emergency Services Coordinator Dennis Miller, a 67-year-old woman was found unresponsive in her Fairdale home by family members and was later pronounced dead.

The mother of the South Carolina police officer who is seen in a video fatally shooting a man said that she cannot bring herself to watch the video.

"I just can't," Karen Sharpe, the mother of now-fired Police Officer Michael Slager, told ABC News. "Maybe to some people, 'Well, you're being in denial,' but I'm sorry I just can't. I just I know how Michael is."

Lt. Col. John Morse, deputy director of the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center said in a press release from the Alaska Department of Military and Veterans Affairs that the climbers were dropped off near the Knik glacier on April 3, but were unable to make their scheduled pickup two days later due to weather conditions. "They're stuck at approximately 8,500 feet in elevation," Morse said, adding that the hikers were forced to shelter in an ice cave after heavy winds damaged their tent.

The group was able to send a text message to a friend using a satellite-based device. That friend "has been working directly with us to help facilitate communications," Morse said Thursday.

Alyssa Milano hopes that having her breast milk taken away upon landing at Heathrow Airport in London leads officials to reconsider security policies, the actress said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Milano, 42, tweeted that 10 ounces of pumped breast milk was taken away upon landing at Heathrow. She said in her statement that "breastfeeding my children has been one of the greatest joys of my life."

"Every ounce of milk I'm able to produce for my child is nothing short of a miracle and to watch that milk be thrown away without any regard for my baby, was heartbreaking," she said.
