David Letterman closed his 33-year late-night TV career Wednesday with a star-studded, emotional episode of “Late Show” that featured Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Tina Fey and a musical performance by the Foo Fighters.

“Our long national nightmare is over – Letterman is retiring,” President Obama said. Letterman appeared next to him. “You’re just kidding, right?” Letterman said.

2. Washington DC Police Name Suspect in Fatal Mansion Fire

Police in Washington, D.C., named a suspect in a fatal mansion fire that killed four people last week.

Paul's talk-a-thon on the Senate floor lasted exactly 10 and a half hours.

"My voice is rapidly leaving, my bedtime has long since passed," Paul said as he began to wrap up his speech. "The bulk collection must end, and I think we have the votes to do it now."

Fidel Castro made it his mission 15 years ago to return the young Elian Gonzalez to his father in Cuba after his mother died while trying to defect to the United States with the young boy.

In Cuba, Elian’s father Juan Miguel won the fight, backed by Castro, who donned gym shoes to personally lead the protests along Havana's Malecon.

Elian returned to Cuba a national -- but somewhat frightened -- hero, greeted by his elementary school classmates and a national TV audience.
