1. Slain Police Officer Identified as Manhunt Continues for Three Suspects

The police officer who was fatally shot Tuesday outside of Chicago has been identified as a longtime veteran of the local police force, the mayor said.

Lt. Joseph Gliniewicz was named as the officer who was killed in Fox Lake, Illinois. The manhunt for three suspects believed to be involved in the shooting is underway and involves state and local officials, Lake County Sheriff's Department Det. Chris Covelli said.

"Not only did Fox Lake lose a family member but I lost a very close friend," Fox Lake Mayor Donny Schmit said at a news conference.

2. President Obama Highlights Climate Change on Alaska Wilderness Tour

President Obama had an adventurous day in Alaska.

The president – who’s visiting the 49th state to address global warming – went for a hike before taking a tour of Kenai Fjords National Park, witnessing Alaska’s natural beauty.

3. Wrestler 'Superfly' Snuka Charged in Girlfriend's 1983 Death

Former professional wrestling star Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka was charged Tuesday with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in the death of his mistress more than three decades ago.

Prosecutors in Lehigh County announced the results of a grand jury investigation into the death of Nancy Argentino, 23, of New York.

Snuka, who had been at a World Wrestling Federation taping at the Allentown Fairgrounds, told police shortly after Argentino's death that he had returned to the couple's Whitehall Township hotel room to find her unresponsive in bed. She was pronounced dead at a hospital several hours later.

4. Pope Francis Acknowledges 'Moral Ordeal' in a Woman's Abortion Decision

Days before his historic visit to the U.S., Pope Francis made global headlines, announcing that this Jubilee Year of Mercy for Catholics around the world "excludes no one," specifically women who have had abortions.

The pope declared that he would allow priests in this forthcoming Year of Mercy to absolve women of the sin of abortion, if they repent "with contrite heart." The Year of Mercy reportedly runs from Dec. 8 and until Nov. 20, 2016.

5. 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 21: Gary Busey Joins the Celebrity Cast

Gary Busey is joining the cast of "Dancing with the Stars."

The actor will appear in the show's 21st season, he revealed Tuesday on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

Busey entered the studio riding a horse, drawing cheers from the audience. Kimmel asked him why he decided to join "Dancing with the Stars" now.

"I didn't have anything else to do," he said.
