1. San Francisco Giants Win World Series
Madison Bumgarner led the San Francisco Giants to their third World Series title in five years with a 3-2 win over the Kansas City Royals.
Bumgarner won Series MVP after he threw five scoreless innings on two days' rest.
2. Nurse Says She Won't Have Officials Violate 'My Civil Rights'
As Maine officials said they were preparing to get a court order to enforce a mandatory quarantine, Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox said Wednesday night that she is not willing to "stand here and have my civil rights violated."
"You could hug me, you could shake my hand [and] I would not give you Ebola," she said outside her Fort Kent home, standing alongside boyfriend Ted Wilbur.
Asked whether she would try to fight the court order, she said, "My lawyers and I will discuss that and then decide."
3. Vanished Broncos Fan Tells Police Why He Wandered Off
A Colorado man who vanished at a Denver Broncos game, then turned up more than 100 miles away five days later, told police he "had his fill of football and decided to go for a walk," according to a police statement.
Paul Kitterman, 53, was "medically sound" when they found him in a K-Mart parking lot Tuesday, the Pueblo, Colorado, Police Department said.
"He wanted to walk 'somewhere warmer,'" the Pueblo police statement read. "Kitterman mentioned sleeping in treed areas and in bushes during his journey to Pueblo and even mentioned disposing of his Broncos hat as he did not want to be recognized."
4. Lava 100 Feet From Hawaii Home, Nearing Main Road
Rain fell Wednesday on a red-hot river of lava as it threatened to consume its first home on its slow advance into a rural Hawaii town, reports The Associated Press.
A breakout of the lava flow was about 100 feet from a Pahoa residence — about the length of a basketball court, said Hawaii County Civil Defense Director Darryl Oliveira. The couple that lives in the home has left.
Scientists from the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory who are walking alongside the lava reported its leading edge was 240 yards from Pahoa Village Road, which goes through a commercial hub of the Big Island's sprawling and isolated Puna district.
5. Suge Knight and Katt Williams Arrested
Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams were arrested and charged with robbery Wednesday after a celebrity photographer reported the men stole her camera last month, reports The Associated Press.
Prosecutors say Williams and Knight, who founded Death Row Records, were arrested Wednesday. Knight has a prior conviction for assault with a deadly weapon and could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
The men are accused of taking a paparazzo's camera in Beverly Hills, California, on Sept. 5. The incident remains under investigation by Beverly Hills police, who did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
