Video Shows Man Breaking Into Home Three Times in One Night While Homeowners Sleep
The suspect spent two-and-a-half hours on the property, police said.
-- Newly released surveillance video shows a man breaking into a Colorado home multiple times in one night while the owners were asleep, police said.
In the video recorded on July 20, a man wearing a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes can be seen looking into a window blowing kisses into the Lakewood, Colorado, home while also gesturing and talking to the window.
Police believe the suspect, who appears to be in his late teens or early 20’s, went in and out of the home at least three times. The suspect spent two-and-a-half hours on the property and did not leave until around midnight, police said.
"I wish I knew what he was in my house doing for two hours. It’s scary, just watching me,” the homeowner, who did not want to be identified, said in an interview with ABC affiliate KMGH in Denver.
Neither police nor the homeowner know what the man did inside the home or why he went in and out of the house multiple times. However, the homeowner has a theory of her own.
At one point in the video, the suspect is seen taking out a knife and stabbing a tree from various angles for 30 minutes.
“He had to think of a game plan, 'Okay, I’m going to break into the house and then I’m going to rape her but what if she fights back?' So, I think that’s why he was back there practicing and he practices for like 30 minutes,” she said.
Since then, the homeowner said she has taken extra precautions to stay safe, spending thousands of dollars to train a guard dog, purchase a gun and update her security system.
