Watch Texas A&M Assistant Shove Opposing Players on the Sidelines
Video captures student assistant striking players during bowl game--twice.
-- Video showing a member of the Texas A&M sideline crew twice hitting and then shoving members of the other team during a nationally televised bowl game has prompted calls on social media for him to be fired.
The man, identified by a school spokesman as student assistant Michael Richardson, was on the sidelines near the players during today's Liberty Bowl against West Virginia University.
Video shows two instances where Richardson appeared to be shoving and then pushing members of the West Virginia team when they ran near him on the sidelines.
Brad Marquardt, the associate director for the team's media relations, told ESPN that when head coach Kevin Sumlin "was made aware" of the incidents, Richardson "was told to remain in the locker room for the remainder of the game."
That may not be enough for viewers, however, as the social reaction was swift and harsh.
